Both institutions stands higher and better in their own way. Both are prestigious institutes. Stands high regarding placement, quality of education, industrial exposure, etc. According to my opinion, I would say PSGIM is the best. But, you have high chances to get into TSM. The last year cut-off is 40.333 for MBC category in TSM. It's difficult for you to get into PSGIM as the last year cut-off is 50 for MBC category.

SIT is 60 km from Bangalore, BVB is 464km. BVB is situated in Hubli, which is more urbanized than Tumkur. You need anything just go to any mall or the market near station, which is 3 km from college. Placements are very good. CSE and ECE placements are great. Last year, Walmart Labs Inc. gave INR. 14 Lacs package to 7 CSE students while Microsoft gave INR. 9.3 lakhs package to 11 CSE students with 2 ECE students. Placement in core companies in Mech and Civil is as in almost every private college, but a bit high. Like all private colleges most of the placements will be in IT companies. St. Xavier College, Bangalore is a good college offering courses recognised by Bangalore University. The fees is less and the placements are good.

The minimum eligibility criteria for integrated BA-B.Ed and B.Sc-B.Ed courses is 10+2 with 50% (45% for SC/ST/PWD) from a recognized board. Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2015, 2016 or appearing /appeared in 2018 are also eligible to apply for BA-B.Ed and B.Sc-B.Ed courses. Admission to all the courses is based on the score in CEE conducted by NCERT followed by preparation of merit list and counselling. Candidates are selected on the basis of the CEE score and aggregate marks in the last qualifying exam. 60% weightage will be given to CEE score and remaining 40% for marks in the qualifying examination.

These are some of the most prestigious universities around since you are in the first year you have some time to build your profile, work hard towards excellent academics and extracurricular activities. Depending on what your subject is, you must build projects, publications, etc., around it. Tests like GRE, etc., must be taken. Excellent recommendation letters will give weightage. Scholarships are on merit, the stronger your profile, better are the chances. But note that full scholarship is rare.
