Journalism as a career is very challenging and requires a lot of hard work and patience. The main objective of a journalist is to give relevant news and educate the mass population about what all is happening around them. To become a good journalist you need to have a good command over English, Hindi and your regional language. Apart from good English you also have to be a good listener and an interpreter, so that you are able to convey exactly what is important for the people and how will it affect them.
As you are pursuing B.Tech, you can go for a Masters or PG in Journalism or Mass Comm. Few good colleges are:

JAMIA
Amity etc.
Most of the above mentioned institute conduct entrance test for admissions. For your preparation you can start with reading newspapers and books related to current affairs and Gk, if you want you can refer to Manorama Year book which is one good book for GK and current affairs.
Apart from all these you also have to practice a lot on writing articles because they might give you any topic to write or also a picture that you need to describe. So you need to write it in a creative manner and for that you need to think out of the box. Other than these you may also prepare on reading comprehension, grammar, etc. At the end, I would say that the entrance is not that difficult and you can clear it easily and the interview depends on your caliber.
