Be it not for the exams, every second applicant would have been admitted which will lead to poor quality education. Imagine a class of around 10,000 students. Selection criteria and shortlisting is important to maintain education standards which in turn will lead to better career outcomes of the students. It also builds the credibility of the university in the market (that they admit good students and produce brilliance).

Institute for technology and Management, Hyderabad is a good option for PGDM. Overall score for ITM according to smart quotient is 6.8 which is above average but it is nowhere mentioned in top 10 Hyderabad's colleges list with respect to management department. However, they do have college placement cell, so it would not be difficult for you to grab a job. Make a thorough research and then decide where you want to study, anyhow you will get a job based on your skills and talent. So, decide yourself.

Hello Samatha,
Genetic Engineering (B.Tech in Genetics) must not be confused with Genetics course offered by various universities at the B.Sc/M.Sc level (B.Sc. in Genetics). The genetics course is pure sciences based and involves the study of pure genetics and not genetic engineering methods and techniques.
I hope this answers your question. If you have any further questions, kindly revert.
