who invented the computer? The answer to the first part of the question is Charles Babbage. Charles Babbage was the first person to introduce the idea of 'programmable machines' he
was an English mathematician, philosopher, inventor and mechanical engineer who originated the
concept of a programmable computer. He hardly imagined that his distaste for human errors would one day result in inventions such as desktop computers and laptop computers.
The first computer, or "modern computer" was invented during World War II, in 1941 by a German engineer named Konrad Zuse. He invented the z1, z2, z3, z4 and other ones. The z3 was the first fully functional program-controlled electromechanical digital computer in the world-completed in 1941.
