To be honest, including theatre along with your engineering can prove to be a hard task. But as you are interested, you can give it a start by joining a theatre. Initially, you can join your college theatre group (If there is one, as most of the colleges have ECA)
Acting is a very challenging profession and requires a lot of talent and hard work. Joining classes will not be a good option as it will be difficult for you to manage. Few qualities that a good actor should posses are, A photogenic Face, good looks, good height, attractive voice, an appealing attitude etc. Initially you can start by getting a portfolio made.

Before you make the final decision, let me state that HR professionals are born and not made. I am talking from my experience of working with multinational and top Indian corporate houses, for over 25 years as a trainer. There are of course two schools of thought on this. Moreover, I have observed students, with girls on the higher side. opting for HR, because they have this wrong notion, that HR is a cushy and comfortable job. To make your career in HR, apart from having innate skills, you need to have a very strong background in psychology or sociology. HR is the backbone of any organization and it plays a very critical role in strategic planning and giving direction to the organization. Kindly give it a thought before you take the final decision.
