In 2010 supreme court had given a verdict for IME like institution that it has to reorganize its current 9 papers to 22 papers for diploma in mechanical engineering. Similar verdict was also given that if either MHRD, UGC, DEC,AICTE together or any one alone gives its approval for any distance mechanical course then it should be treated as approved course.

I would suggest you to go for Electronics engineering since this field of Engineering is growing at a faster rate and have a major role to play in the current scenario of the industrial world. Electronics and tele-communication engineer are highly paid
And let me you tell that Extc (Electronics and tele-Communication) engineer are more hired by companies.
and but if you want a core and evergreen job background, go for electrical engineering.

In Germany, German language is mostly spoken. English too is known by less people. Therefore I think it would be better if you are aware of basics in German.
