Hello sachin. The answer to this question would have been positive a year ago from now. But considering the poor status of oil and gas industry now a days, this course will not be as much beneficial as it would have been earlier. There are not many jobs in oil and gas right now.

MIT being world no. 1 has stringent criteria for admissions. Being a technology institute, they definitely look for good maths and physics score. Other than that, you need SAT/ACT and TOEFL/ IELTS. Take a look here:

Dear aspirant ,
The placements are central for both the divisions and getting selected is only based on calibre . The placement of students each year for both the divisions is 100%, provided they are eligible for the placements! Meaning they'd should have no backlogs , required attendance percentage and through with their summer projects in the semesters to come ! Thank you! For further inquiry you can always call us!

I suppose there are lateral entry programs in many colleges in India, where diploma holders can directly join engg colleges in 2nd year. Then you can get many opportunities, and maybe even better than others.
