The basic difference between the two courses is the study orientation and pattern. M.Tech is a more detailed course with a vast curriculum. Under the M.Tech degree, one has to attend regular classes in order to gain knowledge about the subject. The subject under M.Tech is studied in detail in classes. This is probably because a lot of things in theoretical aspect are to be studied for which classroom course is essential. The project under this course is completed simultaneously along with the classes.
On the other hand, the MS course requires the least attendance in the classes. The course basically deals with the practical knowledge, self-study about the subject and the project. The students interact with the professors and attend those classes which are essential. They devote more time to their project in MS.

1. M.Com: This course is an extension to B.Com and helps you gain a deeper insight into the general functions of working of a business. Generally, those who want to do research work undertake this course. An obvious progression would be to do an M.Phil followed by a Ph.D depending on the level of expertise desired. Jobs available are teachers in schools and college. On the corporate side, you have an opportunity in the finance department of corporate to work as an analyst, research work, consulting, etc.
2. CA: CA can be done along with UG itself and need not necessarily be after PG. This course helps you develop a level of expertise in Accounts, Tax, Audit & Assurance and Consulting. At the intermediate level, one is required to do article ship wherein one can get the insight into these departments thus align your job to your desire. It has a great prospect.
3. CS: These are the people who ensure regulatory compliance of rules and regulations. Again like CA can be pursued along with grads and is relatively easier than CA.
4. ICWA: Cost accountants who control and manage the cost of an organisation.
5. MBA: It is a post graduation course that helps an individual to build himself an array of things such that his overall personality is enhanced and he can better manage various functions of an organisation and probably with time build an understanding to manage the entire organisation. In a B-School one get n number of opportunities to explore his talents in the various field. A budding entrepreneur gets people with alike minds and thus get pursue his passion with similar people around him.
6. Law: With a little understanding of the business law in B.Com and individual can get a brief exposure to the subject and probably decide if he wants to pursue this or not.
Apart from these generic courses, there are a number of other courses that an individual can pursue.
1. Actuarial Science: It for those people who like risk management and like analytic. Understanding of economics and statistics would be necessary to pursue the course. There are a limited number of fully qualified people and thus its a very high paying job. 14 papers. These are people working with the likes of the insurance company to decide upon premiums maturity, etc.
2. CFA: This again is a professional course on the higher side as per the cost is concerned.
