Civil Engineering in VIT is good. Faculties are decent and the opportunities of projects are also as per standards of good engineering colleges. However problem with Civil Engineering is that it is literally a dying field. Don't ever anticipate that after 3-4 years, there will be any progress in this field. Because no matter how many infrastructural projects come up the intake of civil engineers in core jobs will be same. I don't know why it's that way. Mahommad sir don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations. If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering. Or Electrical engineering. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies. Yes, you can as it is one of the good branch of engineering.
Ample amounts of scope is available in front of graduates in both Government as well as private sector. The advantage that IC Engineers have on their side is that there is relatively lesser number of Graduates coming out of Colleges each year (IC branch), when compared to other Engineering branches.
