Generally, no. The majority of EMT programs are going to require a Science family background with a Biology in Class 12 for admission.

There are a few private institutes that will offer basic or technician level EMT training to non-science background students, but educational and career opportunities and certification possibilities may be limited.

Absolutely, you can take an EMT course after completing your nursing diploma. In fact, your nursing knowledge may give you an advantage in terms of understanding emergency care.

An EMT institution may accept a Diploma in healthcare, especially if you are seeking an advanced/fast-track pathway. It can also open your career toward emergency services and trauma care.

An EMT is a person that can perform basic emergency care like CPR, bleeding control, and transport of the patient. Paramedics carry out advanced care like IV medication, managing an airway, etc. Paramedics have longer, more intense training than EMTs, and they have additional certifications and degrees. To be brief, all paramedics are EMTs, but not all EMTs are paramedics.

Yes most EMT programs expect students to have completed Biology, Physics and Chemistry in Grade 12. Some schools offer programs to students with a PCB or PCMB background. Biology is critical because of human anatomy, medical emergencies and patient care.

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) deliver first response medical care following accidents, heart attacks, or traumatic events. They assess the patient, perform CPR, control bleeding, apply an oxygen supply, and safely transport a patient to a medical facility. EMTs are trained to work quickly in adverse settings, and EMTs are employed at hospitals, ambulances, and disaster/accident sites.

Most EMT course in India have relaxed upper age limits, however, institutes typically prefer people below 35 years for training and internships.

Let's emphasize: physical fitness and mental alertness and ability to take on difficult work in emergencies are most important: there is no age limit.

Although some private, and some government training programs, may specify their preference for young candidates in their "eligibility criteria", it is not uniform.
