Hi,
Since the medium of education in US universities is English, so all the international students whose first or native language is not English are required to take TOEFL test to prove their English proficiency.
TOEFL has 4 section namely:
*Reading
*Writing
*Speaking
*Listening
Most of the universities in US, requires TOEFL score of 85-90 plus.
Every university has its own course specific TOEFL requirement, so it is always advisable to log on to university home page to know the exact TOEFL requirement.
I hope this answers your query.
