There are a lot of openings for you after B.Sc Physics. You can opt for M.Sc Physics, Astrophysics : - This sector has many job opportunities you may join M.sc. Astrophysics in any university or if you want to see yourself as a scientist/Researcher you can proceed with M.Sc. in Applied Physics, and then go for PHD.
There are many options available to you depending on your interests, core strengths and chosen career path. Other than the conventional courses, you could explore courses in management, teaching, research, finance/banking, media, corporate communications, retail, hospitality etc. Postgraduate diplomas in specialized areas like leather, sugar, plastics, processing, packaging or environment technology are some other options you could look at. You can also take the Civil Services as well as the Indian Forest Service Exams with physics as one of the papers in the Mains examination.
We recommend that you take the time to explore your deepest talents, interests and career goals before you decide on what the next step should be. It will help to work with a career guidance professional. Alternatively, you can take some online assessments of your skills and personality to understand yourself better.

Prathmesh, it's not about whether it's worth doing. if you have a hobby go ahead groom it. If you're looking for money, look elsewhere since very few get to the moolah. There are several careers in media in writing, production or post production. you can become a reporter, actor or getting behind the camera to direct, cinematograph or do finishing work as an editor, compositor or a VFX artist who can add reality to 3D vizualizations. you may even be a graphic artist who designs the screens, or an animator who brings stories to life as a proxy actor for onscreen characters. you can get into production, whether live or animated. You can be a story writer who writes for live and animated screens or even roll the story into a video/ pc game. you can be a script writer who would stop at nothing to give wonderful scene setups to bring the story to life. you could be an artist who designs characters or who storyboards the film for live or animated performance. you can also double up as a voice over artist who gives his/ her voice to the characters or dub for movie stars, or even be a radio star. you can alternatively look at web for a web of careers in web design, online marketing, search engine optimization, content writing, social media promoting. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, vfx, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world & hence may earn in dollars - resulting in better rewards for designers. Future after doing this course depends on what field u r interested in - livelihood, forestry & wildlife, business development & marketing or environment - It is the students who decide what companies to rope in. Actually most of the things are student-driven, even the mess.that is how we learn things here u know. Expect salary around 6,7,8 lac p.a. IIFM has a history of 100% placement in the real sense with no gloss whatsoever. So getting a job is not an issue.
Life after IIFM is initially tough as you are expected to work at the grassroot level (not for change-agents like us who value & relish these kind of exposures) but then ur career goes for an upward swing once u bcum a pro. Many of our alumni are working in some of the highly coveted jobs in WWF,TERI, UNICEF, YALE university, UNDP, E&Y, Olam International et al. in very high positions but it takes time of course. The long and short of the story is that IIFM gives u a platform.it depend on what u make out of it!
Placement in metro cities does happen but most of us are not here to have fun in the cities. It really depends on u. Its about ur priorities and what kind of role u envision fr urself.
