It doesn't. In fact, a majority of the students at IIM-A (or any other IIM for that matter) are from a technical background with majority being from an engineering background. So, you need not worry about being from a technical background.

Hi,
Let me explain. If you get 80 percentile then it means that 80% students' performance is below you. In a way, you are amongst top 20 percentile students. Unlike percentage score which indicates your individual performance, percentile score indicates your relative performance vis a vis other candidates.
