You have to prepare for IIT JAM Entrance test to pursue M.Sc. from IISC. The eligibility required for IISC is general and OBC candidates:
First class marks or min. 60% aggregate marks, without rounding off, in qualifying degree.
SC/ST/PWD Candidates:
Second class or min. 50% aggregate marks without rounding off, in qualifying degree.
The candidates who have either appeared or are due to appear in the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2017 are also eligible to appear in the test.

Having a good TOEFL score is good, but that alone will not make you eligible for getting any fee concession, apart from having a good test scores, the university will consider your overall profile including but not limited to good statement of purpose, letter of recommendations and your academics as well, make a strong profile to first get admission and then check out fee concession.

It depends on what were your courses in 11th and 12th. A career in a similar stream which you had in your 11th and 12th will help you succeed better. Commerce and science are the two broad categories. In commerce, you can go for arts/design, business, finance and banking.

My recommendation is to join the college for the reputation it has in training and preparing the students. Several well-accomplished alumni have stated that the college curriculum is sufficient to help work your way through.
Therefore, the call is yours ultimately, but in my opinion, the college is doing a good job, irrespective of the ranking it gets per year.
