MBA is a university specified degree where as PGDM is a college specified degree i.e. MBA curriculum is designed by the University and it will be passed to all the colleges affiliated to it and exams too will be conducted by the University itself while on the other hand PGDM curriculum is designed by the college itself and exams will be conducted by colleges only. PGDM advantage is that the colleges will change their curriculum every one or two years as per the need of Industry standards to stay top in the market while University won't care about all these things, they will change its curriculum once in 5 years. So no company wants outdated knowledge so they prefer PGDM candidates over MBA. But remember if you are going for PGDM you should go for top 10 or 20 colleges which got high reputation in India otherwise you will be doomed. No company will accept you.
