In order to be eligible for Ph.D. Rural Development course study, the candidates need to complete their Master's degree or M.Phil in any stream along with a minimum 50% (relaxation available for reserved category candidates) aggregate marks from a recognised university. According to the UGC (University Grants Commission), it is not necessary to obtain Ph.D. in India for obtaining the post of assistant professor. It is mandatory only for the post of a Professor.
