Hi,
The eligibility criterion for undergraduate courses of Engineering is a pass in 10+2 with 50% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
Admission to the engineering courses is usually done on the basis of merit in the entrance exams ( like IIT-JEE, AIEEE, BITSAT, WBJEE, VITEEE, CUSAT, ISAT, etc ) conducted at the state or national level. Also many colleges and universities give direct admission based on the merit list ( based on XII board exams).
So the qualifying criteria varies for different colleges. I would say that you need to wait for the right time and be positive and meanwhile keep yourself updated on all the recent trend
