The eligibility criterion for undergraduate courses of Engineering is a pass in 10+2 with 50% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
Admission to the engineering courses is usually done on the basis of merit in the entrance exams ( like IIT-JEE, AIEEE, BITSAT, WBJEE, VITEEE, CUSAT, ISAT, etc ) conducted at the state or national level. Also many colleges and universities give direct admission based on the merit list ( based on XII board exams).
So the qualifying criteria varies for different colleges. I would say that you need to wait for the right time and be positive and meanwhile keep yourself updated on all the recent trends in the industry.

There will be Direct Admission for those students with 60% and above marks in graduation, those pursuing final year but have 60% & above marks in their first two years, are exempt from the written test. However, they have to appear before the interview panel.
