Yes, it is possible because:
1. Candidates must hold a Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification of any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislatures in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament.
2. Candidates of B.Sc / BA honours must have minimum 55% marks in average in their honours subject.

I appreciate your sense of approach. Answering your question. Changing a branch is up to you my friend (my personal opinion is to not to change the branch).
But before you opt for another branch, keep an eye on various subjects and your interests upon the subject. It's your future and your own life. So, you should be aware of your interests and take a branch according to your interest. Talking about your preparation which you did in these 3 years, it doesn't mean the struggle you had is useless. Remember, every experience gives you the new technique and new ideas. So, never lose hope and keep trying.

Yes, you definitely can.
The maximum gap should be of 3 years. So do not worry, and wait for the next year. Till then, you may do some Diploma courses of that genre. Revert back for any doubt.

As far as my knowledge goes about my college, it is only for Diploma holders. Though there is a way to get into the main campus if you have studied the first year in any other Manipal University college.
