Yes, a student with PCM background can apply for BAJMC programme in good Universities. But, what is imperative is to understand what being a journalist entails. Curiosity, willingness to work hard, storytelling and using "Why chaining" when it comes to news. It is a creative line of work that involves being in line with current affairs and a sense of objectivity and facts. If you feel you love all these aspects, then journalism is an amazing choice. My advice would be to focus on being a good well-read journalist before you think of being an TV anchor. All top notch TV news anchor you see today are first journalists.

PG in engineering after B.Sc. in A.M.E. I must say that you have very good aim. But, I am afraid, it is not feasible. Minimum qualification for getting admission to any PG course in engineering is graduation in engineering and A.M.E. is actually a B.Sc. degree.

Media does have late night shifts and reporters do have to go to places which can be unsafe, but plenty of young women are very successful in this field. There are also forms of journalism that are more safe than others, lifestyle reporting, business reporting etc. Have more structured hours and don't need reporters to go to unsafe places. There is also desk/editorial work that takes place in the office and most journalism offices have drop back and pick up services that are very safe.

Social Media has made huge impact on Journalism without a doubt but the views of people differ whether the impact is positive or negative. The people in support argue that the information is available to many people simultaneously at the same time and people can express their opinions about it too. Hence it increases awareness and spreads the information more efficiently. The people in against argue that it spreads all sorts of negative behaviour like racism, casteism etc. And promotes communal hatred by spreading biases information without much filter. But whether the impact is positive or negative, all would agree that it has changed

If you like design and have interest in it then sure pursue it without hesitation. It is a good course nevertheless. The choice of specialisation is completely dependent on you and your interests. All specialisations are good and have nearly same scope. In the end, if you are good at something you will have no trouble finding a job. I would suggest pursuing a course of your interest.
