Your GATE score of last appears way below your capabilities. So, something went wrong during exam? But, forget about that episode. You are now appearing afresh. Take into account your weak areas of last year and if you plug these I am sure this year you will get desired score.

BITS has very flexible academics with which comes a lot of advantages, one of which is dual degree. If you opt for this you get an admission in M.Sc degree and after the completion of one year, based on your CGPA the B.E degree is allotted. If you performed well you might get computer sciences as your dual degree. Similarly, other degrees( EEE, ENI, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical) are also allotted on this procedure. It's a five-year program at the end of which you are given two degrees one for the M.Sc and the other for the B.E degree.
The cutoff's for M.Sc economics in 2016 was 335.
Hope you find it useful.
All the best!
