Hello Saurabh,
The admissions earlier were not based exclusively on entrance exam but combination of this and marks of 12th. Hence trying to compare with this year is futile since now it's based only on MHTCET.
After the exam is over, some sites will come up with college predictor. That will tell you about possibility of admission in MIT.

Hello Saurabh,
GATE is the entrance exam for admission to PG courses in engineering. As you are studying in 12th, you need to become an engineer first and then give GATE. But, of course having dream is always good. There are another four years at least and what type of exam it would be, no one knows. So, relax. Complete your BE / B.Tech and when you get in final year start surfing for the same.

Firstly, its good to have a specific goal. Make a list of subjects you have to study and prioritize them based on your strengths and weaknesses. Have a well defined time table preferably reviewed by teacher/mentor/parent. Keep your weekly goals both measurable and specific and realistic. Take regular tests and practice exams and mock prep to gauge your progress and improvement. Health, exercise and food also are very important.
