The Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) is a technical residential university located in the city of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India and is a government university. Established in 1962 as Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College, the college became affiliated with Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, in 2000. It was granted the status of "autonomous institute" by the University Grants Commission in 2011. The college became a university on 1 December 2013 by Act No. 22/2013 of U. P. government. It started functioning from 17 December 2013 after Prof (Dr. ) Onkar Singh took over as the first Vice-Chancellor of the university.

Hi there, the LPU offers a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering. It is an Engineering programme which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic Science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal etc. Specialisation. The Eligibility Criteria is (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics Mathematics and English or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST/ JEE (Mains). For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants)
If Candidate has 85 or more percentile in JEE (Mains), then LPU NEST is exempted. The course aims at enabling the student to Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learnings from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics and computational skills and tools. He should have the Ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology. He should acquire Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using basic understanding of Thermodynamics Heat transfer and Fluid Mechanics. He should Demonstrate the ability to propose cost effective optimized solutions using simulated environments of Computer aided design, computer aided manufacturing and computer aided engineering. The highest salary package offered to mechanical branch students is 31 LPA, while the average salary is 4.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Bosch, ONGC, Ashok Leyland, Hitachi, etc.
