A degree or Masters in GIS or a related subject like geography is normally required. Experience of using GIS is valuable too, a good way to get experience is to volunteer your skills to local authorities using GIS.
You need to have a keen interest in geography and map design and enjoy working on your own as well as with other teams. Even though GIS officers deal with data about National Parks, most of their work is computer-based in an office.
You can look for studies in either India or abroad as per your choice and convenience. As for the career opportunities, they are at par since GIS is a key emerging and evolving industry throughout the world.

1. To become a corporate lawyer, you need to get a degree in law by taking up a five-year Bachelor of Law (B.A. LL.B) degree course after completing your higher secondary education (Class 12) or by pursuing the three-year B.A. LL.B after obtaining a bachelor's degree in any discipline.

6. Broadly speaking, corporate lawyers advise corporations on their legal rights and obligations.
7. Multi-crore suits have changed the very complexion of the game, making corporate law a popular and lucrative career option. And with foreign law firms moving into India, salaries have begun to shoot upwards.
To boost your prospects further, you could even plumb for an additional qualification, e.g., Company Secretaryship or a degree in HR or Industrial Relations with a working knowledge of labour laws depending on the field you wish to specialise in.
