1. Eligibility: You need to have Master's degree in relevant subject. Some institutes/ universities allow exception to this rule for engineers and Doctors.
2. Now according to new UGC rules coming into force from 2009, you need to clear some sort of entrance exam/ interview to get admission for Ph.D program.
3. After getting admission for Ph.D program, you need to complete some course work for requisite credits.

You can get admission in XIME, Christ University, Alliance, BIMTECH, Amity University, SIMSREE and SIESCOM on the basis of MAT score. SIMSREE and SIESCOM accept February MAT scores.

It depends on different subjects. There are foreign authors like Oppenheim for Signals and Systems, and then there are local authors that are generally written by professors in IP University itself such as Sanjay Sharma for Communication Systems. For good marks, use local authors and books written for specifically IPU and for good knowledge go for Foreign authors.
