After completing B.Tech from an AICTE approved institute, please apply to IES (Indian Engineering Services) conducted by UPSC. IES is conducted for following branch of engineering only
i. Civil Engineering
ii. Mechanical Engineering
iii. Electrical Engineering
iv. Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering
You should be minimum 21 year and maximum 30 years as on the date of application
Eligibility
A degree in Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent. M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain Services/posts only.
Candidates appearing at their engineering degree or equivalent examination are also eligible to compete. Candidates qualifying on the result of the written part of the Examination will be required to submit the proof of passing the requisite examination along with their detailed application form to be filled up at that stage.

Before starting the exam preparation, candidate should have an idea on the exam pattern and the syllabus of the exam. Questions for Intelligence Bureau ACIO Exam will be asked from topics like Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning, Numerical Ability, General Awareness and General English. Essay writing and précis writing questions will also be there. Time allotted for answering the test is 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Time management plays a crucial role in clearing competitive exams. Practicing questions of previous years will help one in managing their time efficiently.
A good general reading habit will be helpful to crack GK and language session. Reading magazines and news dailies will increase the general knowledge and vocabulary of the candidate.
