Yes, For B.com (hons) course, you have the 'option' to opt for economics i.e., it's not going to be a core paper. It's an elective subject and not mandatory. If you wish to study economics as one of your subjects you can choose it as your elective, else there are other subjects (political science, Calculus, Physical Education, etc.).

If you mind with placements only then it's pretty good and obviously one of the best in Rajasthan. MNIT's curriculum is decent enough to make you capable to industries. But being an MNITian I feel that there is a lack of coding environment in our campus. For CSE students, having rank on Code Chef, etc. matters and you'll not find much MNITian there. So choose wisely, either you want to pursue CSE course and get a job or you wish to be a coder.

You should prefer the university or institute which offers you good placements, good practical and industrial exposure and should have good infrastructure. There are different institutes and universities which offer such courses are Lovely Professional University, Birla Institute of Technology, KIIT University, Jaipur National University and a few others.

While working, it is difficult to pursue regular M.Tech. And, distance M.Tech is not valid anymore as per the latest Supreme Court verdict. Hence, if you really want to pursue M.Tech, then you should go for regular one.
