The basic eligibility for the M.ed is to pass B.ed with 55% marks. M.ed is considered as an important course as it helps the students to learn the education systems and patterns more profoundly and comparatively .
After successful completion of this program, you may find career opportunities in such areas as teaching, curriculum and instruction administration, continuing education/adult education, teaching at community colleges, working for academic departments in colleges or universities, instructional design, corporate training, or consulting.
As for Ph.D, the eligibility criteria varies for every institute. However the basic requirement is a Masters degree or an equivalent degree in the relevant discipline. However the cut off percentages vary. Some of the institutes conduct entrance exams and some of them require atleast two Research Publications for the Ph.D programs. Some also require work experience of a couple of years.
Candidates desirous of earning a Ph.D. in a particular area should exhibit deep understanding and maturity in that area. This is evaluated through an extensive interview by a panel of experts. It is one of the most complex parts of software development.
As for the stream, most diploma courses in gaming, 10+2 (any subject), will be enough. There is no requirement of minimum marks. The only requirement is that the school or board should be recognized by the government. Some gaming institutes also take graduates from any discipline. This will vary from institution to institution. But there is no set criterion for admission into game designing courses.

To become a Game Designer, you must get a good knowledge of 3D software as well as preproduction. Usually in Games the environment is created in 3DSMax and Character animations in Maya, Only the models are made with less polygons and more textures. So choose a program that teaches you these software. It would not matter whether the programme is called game design programme or not. Rest, to become a level designer you must have a passion for game design. May I ask, have you ever designed a game?
