Yes it can, you need to show continuity of education while applying in foreign universities. So, don't drop a year. Instead take admission in a good university.
These days we have many good private universities where you can take admission on the basis of your marks in 12th or by clearing their tests in case you have not given JEE.

GRE:
It is a test which needs to be taken by students who wish to pursue master's degree in science and engineering fields from universities abroad.

The process of taking admission in MBA is through CAT/ MAT/ XAT test or tests conducted by particular universities or GDPI or yours marks in graduation.
As for the gap you can provide the institution with a gap certificate which mentions the reason for the gap.
