You have an option of doing BCA MCA to be a software engineer / developer provided you had Maths at +2 stage. If you did not have Maths at 12th you can join IGNOU for BCA and do make up Maths course as part of BCA syllabus.

Assuming that you are talking of B.Tech in, 16,562 is not so good rank. The number of seats are limited in B.Tech colleges. Although you won't be able to secure admission in top ranked colleges, but you can still get admission in some colleges like HMR institute of technology. But if you belong to a reserved category there are chances that you might get admission to a better college. For further information you can check the last rank admitted in last year which is available on various websites. Please approve the answer if found useful.
