I really don't know who told you this thing and how you have observed it. But let me explain to you that developing a software and software market both are a different thing. Think about the software you use on a daily basis, and tell me are you able to use any hardware without any software, today even your refrigerator is smart now, how? Just because of software and other development happing in the IT industry and everything is interlinking with each other, just because of new hardware and highly developed software. And as you know that new software come and old are washed away, and if one is still working it is because of the updates to that software. If the market is down it is because old things are going to the graves and new are emerging. Hence please do not very this world not gonna end this soon. Major universities insist mathematical background for BCA Course. The eligibility followed by majority universities for BCA programme is - HSc with Mathematics / Computer Science / Computer Application as a subject of study. Same is the eligibility for B.Sc-Computer Science and IT Programs. I am holding graduation in both BCA and BBA and also PG in Computer Science and Management. So I can help you in detail. I did my first graduation in BCA and later second degree in BBA. The papers / syllabus are same as B.Sc. Computer Science and IT. There are two maths papers in BCA and B.Sc.
1. Numerical and statistical methods
2. Discrete mathematics. These are not so tough papers. Besides, in a paper named Digital electronics, Binary system and covertion is a topic of study. Rest papers are computer papers. I had many batch mates who studied commerce with Computer Applications and Mathematics, it was not an issue for them. If you are still interested, go ahead with BCA study well, and if need more attention in two maths papers, take help of a tuition teacher. There are some repeated questions in each subjects. You can find it by preparing Previous papers. Find and answer it. So you can pass the difficult subjects through this method. MCA also have two or three maths papers. The eligibility criteria of MCA is different in each universities. In most of the universities, it is
1. Graduation in Computer applications/Science/ IT/ Electronics BCA /B.Sc-IT, CS Electronic)
2. Graduation in Maths, Physics, Chemistry etc. With mathematics as a subject
3. B.Com / BBA with Mathematics / Business Maths as a subject of study
4. Any Graduation with Mathematics at HSc level.
