National Institute of Design (NID) offers admissions to aspirants in Bachelor of Design (BDes) as well as Master of Design (MDes) programmes on the basis of their performance in NID Design Aptitude Test. In order to secure admission in design programmes offered at National Institute of Design (NID) aspirants need to take part in NID that (Prelims) and NID that (Mains). The candidates who are shortlisted in NID that (Prelims) can only appear for NID that (Mains) admission round.
NID that (Prelims) is a written design aptitude test conducted by NID whereas NID that (Mains) comprises of a Studio Test and Interview round. Candidates who are clear both these admission rounds are offered admission in design programmes offered at colleges accepting NID entrance exam scores for admission. Total number of seats on offer in BDes programmes at NID is 100 whereas MDes seats for admissions are 275 in number.
Eligibility:
The eligibility criteria for NID entrance exam states that candidates who have cleared or who will be appearing for their qualifying exams under higher secondary (10+2) from any recognized board such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or their equivalent in the year 2016-2017 can apply for the exam.
