No, it's a myth. Nothing else. I am sure you must be known of American president Donald Trump policies. CSE isn't out of trend. If you are innovative and hardworking, there are many doors open for you.

BJMC and B.Sc-IT are two very different courses with each of them having their own scope. Opt for the course that you love the most and are most passionate about and analyse the future work conditions, scope and growth prospects before taking admission.
You can also opt for psychometric test comprising of aptitude, personality and career interest to clear your confusion.

Ample job opportunities are available for B.Sc in forestry graduates in the Forest Department of Indian Government. One may land the job of a forester or forest department officer in State Governments Forest Department. For this, one has to go through the selection process and examination though. In the case of private sector jobs, some job posts available are- plantation and resort manager, forest product marketing, forest products purchasing manager, Research and Development sector etc. Starting salary is generally around 15k-25k per month. If you want to become a software engineer then following are the options in front of you in order of precedence:
(a) B.Tech CSE or B.Tech IT
(b) BCA-MCA
(c) B.Sc-M.Sc CS or B.Sc-M.Sc IT.
Nowadays it is difficult to get a software engineer job if you are engineer with a degree such as Mechanical, Civil, Chemical etc. not from above mentioned IT background degrees. Mass Media qualification is for becoming journalist.
