No, it's a myth. Nothing else. I am sure you must be known of American president Donald Trump policies. CSE isn't out of trend. If you are innovative and hardworking, there are many doors open for you.
As you know, Google and Amazon are getting quite a lot interested in interning Indian engineers. After China, India is one of the most leading software development countries in Asia and globe too. BJMC and B.Sc-IT are two very different courses with each of them having their own scope. Opt for the course that you love the most and are most passionate about and analyse the future work conditions, scope and growth prospects before taking admission.
You can also opt for psychometric test comprising of aptitude, personality and career interest to clear your confusion.

(a) B.Tech CSE or B.Tech IT
(b) BCA-MCA
(c) B.Sc-M.Sc CS or B.Sc-M.Sc IT.
Nowadays it is difficult to get a software engineer job if you are engineer with a degree such as Mechanical, Civil, Chemical etc. not from above mentioned IT background degrees. Mass Media qualification is for becoming journalist.
