Dear Shahzeb, my reply is entirely different from our two great experts. With apology to them, I would say that your planning is absolutely right. Firstly, the pattern of XIIth exam and JEE is different. Since, conceptual knowledge is more important during JEE, it can not be simultaneously prepared with 12th unless, you have been preparing for it during past two years. This method often resulted in not so good score in 12th which was OK so far but now with more weightage to 12th result, your idea of giving one year of preparation is perfectly alright. Secondly, one year GAP is no issue for placement by MNC companies and it is allowed.
