Dear Dhruba,
The answer to your question is a DEFINITE YES. If you have a Diploma or a Degree in Banking and Finance, you will be given a preference - Not in the exam but at the interview stage. As per RBI advisory, all PSU banks will give you additional weightage if you have a professional qualification like banking or finance.
So go ahead and choose the best possible degree that you qualify for.
Feel free to contact me for further clarification on the matter.
Best of Luck!!!
Amit Goyal

Join a good university wherever it is and earn a proper professional mass communication degree with placement opportunity.
Manipal, Nitte, Amity, EFLU, Osmania, SIMC are good in masscomm. Some don't have entrance. Check the fees, ask about scholarships also and join any of these universities. Don't end up paying more for their overspending. All these universities have faculty and students from Punjab.
