I suggest u 2 go and check the university link . Bcoz thr's different criteria for different universities so go the the link of which university prospectus u r looking 4, coz generally they upload thr details of cource and prospectus on thr website itselp or else u can ask them to issue u 1.

Yes, there are other institute specific entrances as well in order to pursue M.Tech other than GATE. But, it would be advisable to opt for M.Tech after clearing GATE exam as it opens more doors of esteemed universities like IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc.
