There are many branches or subjects that you can choose in your degree. Firstly decide which field of Science is your preference. Be a brilliant student, not only academics but an all rounder. Show your skills in innovative work, projects, extracurricular activities etc. Try to be unique. The will be thousands of applicants probably having a stronger profile tha you so prepare with careful work. For admission purpose take SAT or ACT. You did not say what you want to study hence assuming you are applying for Bachelor's.
