Other than this you can try in private universities without ccb counselling as there you can get a branch of your choice and in some of them you can also get scholarship on the basis of your marks in 12th.

Regarding the preparation of CAT test I would suggest you to first start with self-preparation and stick to it for few weeks and revise your class 10 and 12th maths (CBSE/ICSE if possible) to strengthen your basics.
After self preparation for few weeks you may then consider joining some good coaching institute in your city which offers quality coaching for CAT and various other management entrance test.
Even after joining a coaching institute you have to do self study to strengthen your preparation.
The number of hours that you are required to put in depends on your individual aptitude, however it would be recommended for self

There is not much of a difference in B.com and B.Com Hons.
B.Com hons require you to have maths as a compulsory subject, unlike B.Com pass.
