Hi Sidhant,
Regarding the preparation of CAT test I would suggest you to first start with self-preparation and stick to it for few weeks and revise your class 10 and 12th maths (CBSE/ICSE if possible) to strengthen your basics.
After self preparation for few weeks you may then consider joining some good coaching institute in your city which offers quality coaching for CAT and various other management entrance test.
Even after joining a coaching institute you have to do self study to strengthen your preparation.
The number of hours that you are required to put in depends on your individual aptitude, however it would be recommended for self study of 3 -4 hours daily apart from coaching.
Once you join coaching institute their the mock test are held twice or thrice a month. So I would suggest you to regularly give mock test because based on your performance in mock tests you may know in area you are strong and in which areas you need more hard work.
After spending considerable time in preparation it would also be advisable for you to set a clear cut target about your aspirations, whether you are planning to take admission only in top 10 colleges or top 20 colleges or top 30 colleges. The target must be realistic based on your self-analysis your preparation and your confidence in yourself.

There is not much of a difference in B.com and B.Com Hons.
B.Com hons require you to have maths as a compulsory subject, unlike B.Com pass.
