In essay based questions you might have to write your opinion on a certain issue concerning our country , though there are multitude of such issues generally focus on the most recent and relevant ones as their goal is to check your sensitivity and your outlook
Search for GK specific to the course you are applying for
Subscribe to any current affairs journal and go through it every month.
*Quantitative ability
TISS question papers have always focused on very simple math's , mostly Data Interpretation is key to most of the quantitative problems that they generally ask.
A few important tips
Learn fractions thoroughly
If possible learn the value of fractions by rote as advice in book by Arun Sharma
Level 1 Algebra from Arun Sharma will suffice for rest of the algebra problems
The Data Interpretations generally involve a case where eventually you might be required to compare the value of fractions so again I stress Keep that strong.
Do Logical Reasoning Level 1 from Arun Sharma book for Logical reasoning.
*Language Ability
Comprehensions “are generally contextual so the answers might not be drawn directly you might have to apply some logic to it , going through the old question papers of TISS will definitely give you an Idea
Analogy, Antonym Questions, Sentence Completion: These three types of question types will require you to develop a good vocabulary , I would definitely recommend to go through the GMAT list of words I think they are quite enough for TISS examination and also practice extensive sets of analogy and sentence completion.
*The key is focus rather than doing a lot of things focus on these key areas and cracking The TISS NET examination won't be that hard.

The eligibility norms for the examination are as follows:
1. Nationality
-For the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India.
-For the Indian Revenue Service, a candidate must be one of the following: A citizen of India A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
-For other services, a candidate must be one of the following: A citizen of India A citizen of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
2. Education All candidates must have a minimum of any of the following educational qualifications:
-A degree from a Central, State or Deemed university
-A degree received through Correspondence Education or Distance Education
-A degree from an Open University
-A qualification recognized by the Government of India as being equivalent to either of the above
The following candidates are also eligible, but have to submit proof of their eligibility from a competent authority at their institute/university at the time of the main examination, failing which they will not be allowed to attend the exam
Candidates who have appeared in an examination, the passing of which would render them educationally qualified enough to satisfy any of the above points
Candidates who have passed the final exam of the MBBS degree but have not yet completed their internship
3. Age Prescribed age limits are minimum 21 years and maximum of 30 years as on 1 August of the year of Examination. A candidate who turns 21 on 1 August is eligible whereas a candidate who turns 30 is not. Upper age limit relaxation is provided to candidates under the reserved category.
