MS in Engineering Management is a good course to pursue and it offers good career prospects and excellent growth opportunities.
Engineering management opportunities exist in many industries. Most engineering managers work first as engineers before advancing into management positions.
Some principal duties of engineering managers include project management, research, and product development. They act as overseers who formulate plans to see that projects are successfully completed.
They manage employees from various engineering disciplines as well as cross-disciplinary and global teams.
They also ensure that the final product is budgeted accurately and supported by upper management.
Having management skills as well as engineering skills can greatly enhance your chance for advancement.
Please remember pursuing studies abroad is always a good option, the main reason for seeking a masters degree from abroad are:
- Getting a better quality of education.
- Improves career opportunities.
- Broaden international experience.
- Gaining exposure to different cultures.
However please remember before going for pursuing studies abroad you need to first decide does the course will be helpful for you i.e. does it provide good job opportunities in India or abroad.
Please remember the cost of education in US would be much more as compared to education in India, so you need to decide whether it is worth to invest such a big amount.
US is the best study destination to pursue MS degree, but the cost of education in US universities in very high plus getting a US VISA is very difficult.
Please note that institutes in India do offers campus placement to students, whereas such facility in not available in American universities.
You may work part time while pursuing studies abroad, but such opportunity in not possible in India.
So based on the above mentioned parameters you may decide whether to pursue MS from India or US.
