Hi,
The competition is less as compared to CAT and XAT. GMAT opens the door for almost all the universities in abroad as well as top ranking universities in India. If you are planning to study MBA from abroad, then GMAT is the only option.
If you wish to study in India, you have to appear for CAT exam. If you belong to general category, then you will have to score above 710 marks to get into top universities of India.

It varies with college. Usually, IIMs have the fees of Rs.10 lakhs to Rs.18 lakhs for the entire course and other reputed colleges have similar fees.
