To become an astronaut you have to get these basic requirements-
-Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, biological science, physical science, or mathematics.
- Should be a citizen of India
-You should be at least 21 years of age by the time you join. Age relaxation is there for SC/ST candidates.
-At least 1,000 hours pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft. Flight test experience is highly desirable.

After graduation, candidates can appear for the entrance exam which is held by NASA for the recruitment of scientists, Astronauts etc.

That's a good idea. If you're creative, Design and Animation is always a good choice. A good mentor and wise selection of courses with a good school, followed by diligent learning, would get you a head start in your career. However, you must check your suitability for this field. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in animation design, game design, graphics, storyboarding, 3d modelling, texturing and lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this (if you work hard you can improve your drawing skills tremendously). Nothing but your innermost talent and passion should lead you to the course and the institute you choose. Go speak to people over there and see if you like their philosophy and they change your perspective.Try their website for more details. Also remember that Animation requires good mentoring. Typically go for a school which offers all the information including faculty on their website. jaswant Dont go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations.
If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science Engg.
If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical Engg. or Electrical Engg.
If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication Engg most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies. So I would suggest, better to study Computer Science Engg.
If you want to sail through vast sea go with Marine Engg.
If you have not decided what you want to do after B.Tech, sit for one or two days and decided what you want to do. If still confused, select any of the engineering mentioned in point # 1, 2 and 3 (Computer science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics) .
