NITIE (National Institute of Industrial Engineering), Mumbai which was established in the year 1963 by the Govt. of India with the assistance of UNDP and ILO has now been named IIM, Mumbai. The change was made on July 12^th, 2023 after the Union cabinet approved an amendment to the IIM Act, making it the second IIM (Indian Institute of Management) in Mumbai, Maharashtra alongside IIM Nagpur.
