Hi, There are no shortcuts to success, one needs to work hard to get selected for any banking job.
The bank PO exam consists 5 sections that is English, reasoning ability, quantitative aptitude, general awareness and computer knowledge. Candidates need to clear all the sections due to the individual cut-off marks required along with overall cut-off marks.
In preparation, the must thing is that your basic concepts should be clear. And as the speed and time management is very important for the bank exams, you must be aware of all the important formulas and short tricks.
Here are some tricks to improve your preparation:
Learn the tables, cubes, and squares up to 25 to solve the aptitude quickly.
Learn the short trick to get the square and cubes of the number.
Use vedic mathematics for the multiplication and other calculation to solve in a minimum time limit.
You must be aware of the percentage and ratio problems and fractions.

There are basically 4 sections in Bank exam - Verbal Ability, DILR, Quants and GK.
Verbal Ability:
Start reading newspaper daily to increase your reading speed and grasping power. It will also help you to get in touch with basic vocab. Don't miss out the editorial page. Do a proper analysis of articles on the editorial page. Try to make a summary of articles that you read para by para. You can switch to the book called WORD POWER MADE EASY by NORMAN LEWIS.
DILR
The best thing to score in LR-DI is to practice more questions on a daily basis so you understand which sets you should leave and before attempting the sets what are the things you should look for. I would suggest 'Puzzles by George J Summers'.
Quants
This section is one of the most scoring section for student and you too should try to get maximum marks in this section. It has a proper syllabus and you need to practice each and every chapter. The major topics are- Geometry, Arithmetic, Algebra, Number System and Modern Math. It is basically the math that you have studied till the tenth standard. However, having said that, the questions are not really easy. Focus more on Arithmetic and Algebra as these two are the most important topics.
GK
Read newspaper daily for current affairs and go for Lucent for GK.
