Hello Eswara, For appearing in GATE, M.Sc is an accepted norm or even 2nd year of M.Sc. However, getting into M.Tech for any branch, you need to have degree of B.Tech. There are very few institutes which will accept M.Sc. In chemistry as a criteria for admission for M.Tech. In this connection you should first decide in which institution you want to take admission and then check the eligibility requirement of this institution before taking the plunge into GATE and then finding out that you are not eligible. Best wishes to you.

To get admissions in NITR, you should have got marks in range of 150-180 if you belong to general category. To get a better branch as per last year records available on JOSAA website.
