Hi Nishant,
First of all please tell me why you want to switch to IT from such a better field of engineering. It's really strange to hear.
If you really want to switch, you need to do nothing, but, to learn a Computer language. Either: Java. .net, html anything you want to. You will be surprised to know that facebook recruits Programmers, even if they find a Mechanical Engineer a good programmer, they recruit him/her.

Below NPTI PGDC Admission Eligibility Criteria 2013 :
B.Tech. / B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or its equivalent .
Those appearing in their final year examination can also apply.
However, they must submit their degree / provisional degree certificate at the time of counselling.
Age Limit : For Non – sponsored candidates the age limit as on 1st July, 2013 is 27 years. No age limit for the sponsored candidates.
