It doesn't matter what you choose for your graduation in terms of your prospects of getting a call from an IIM. Hence you should evaluate two courses based on your interest and your capabilities alone. There is no point in pursuing your graduation in something you are not good at or you don't have an interest in. The admission criteria change every year and you have no way of knowing what will it be when you graduate.

Yes, there are. IIMs are known to promote diversity and they strive to get good candidates from all domains (For example: we have doctors, lawyers too). However IIMs do not offer any advantage to BBA graduate over others and you will have to compete with everyone else to get a seat in IIMs.

Yes, you can absolutely study for CAT while doing a BBA. IIMs don't discriminate between graduation major, on the contrary they promote diversity in the background. Also it is not compulsory to have work experience to join IIMs. However IIMA has recently started to encourage freshers to take a deferred admission to have work experience of two years. Also people with work experience, at times, have slight advantage in placements (it's not much though).

I also had similar dilemma during my engineering colleges days. It is a common confusion in the mind of engineers. There is no cause to get depressed. If you do not like engineering, you can rework your career strategy. You are the best judge of your strengths and weaknesses. If you are unable to do your own strength and weakness analysis, take the help of your best friend, family member or teacher with whom you can confide. Chose an alternate career based on your strengths and make a strategy to work on your shortcoming. For example you can complete B Tech and do MBA to give another direction to career.
