In terms of placements, the University has maintained a decent track record. The official placement report or brochure is yet to be released. As per the data gathered from the NIRF report 2024, 156 out of 818 PG (2-year) graduates were placed in 2023. Earlier, 234 out of 803 students were placed in the 2022 drive. Further, the median package offered in 2023 was INR 3.26 LPA, which was almost 32% less in comparison to 2022. If you have a strong profile and manage your finances you should at least try applying to a good university abroad. If you manage to get into IIT, NIT or BITS then you stick to India. You have to compare, go abroad if it's a reputed university.

Watching films does help but specifically mentioning any particular type of film is hard. Foreign films mainly Hollywood, Indian films (mainly the award winning movies). Movies made by Ray, Sen, Ghatak & Sinha get the place in question paper in terms of objective questions. So, knowing basic information about this films will help you. Except this, current affairs and some basic general knowledge will be there, for that, you can take help of any current affairs magazine, like Manorama.
