Check the syllabus with your board on their website or these days all sample papers carry the syllabus with weightage. The 12th boards always have complete syllabus in exams so prepare accordingly.

There is no branch in engineering where anyone can predict guranteed job after 5 years even if you do B.Tech from IIT. Jobs in a branch depend on market & economical conditions, geopolitics situation, political leadership & it's policy, changes in technology, availability of manpower and brand image of Institute etc. You are advised to do engineering in subject of your choice to excel in the field of your choice. Currently CSE & ECE are the best branches in term of opportunities

Automobile engineering is a sub branch of mechanical engineering, though it is studied as main branch in some engineering colleges. Difference according to study:
In mechanical engineering you will learn every mechanical object or machines out there in the world. You will have more generalised subjects like theory of machines, dynamics and kinetics of machines. You will have machine oriented problems. While in automobile engineering you will learn Automobile IC engines, Vehicle Dynamics, Vehicle kinematics, etc. As I'm from mechanical, I can say that it's better to choose Mechanical than automobile as per the opportunities too.
