Before I reply to your query - please understand this. Dummy admissions involve students enrolling for plus-two courses but spending their time preparing for competitive entrance exams like JEE and medical entrance tests instead of attending classes. A dummy school is one which has a tie up with a coaching class so that the latter can do all the teaching and the former conducts the school exams and the labs. Also, it is necessary for an institute to be registered with the relevant Board; else, their students can't take the Board exams. Obviously, coaching classes are not registered with any Board since they do not have the relevant infrastructure such as labs, etc. ; hence, they need to tie-up with the relevant schools who will not enforce the pertinent attendance rules on the students referred by the coaching class. Thus, it is good business for, both, the coaching class and the dummy school. Students in dummy schools have about two classes a day that lasts for approximately one to one and a half hour each day, which mainly focus on board exams and school syllabus. The rest of the day is spent focusing on entrance exam preparation at the coaching centre, for which the classes typically go on for 8-9 hours. In contrast to this, a student from a regular school spends about 7 hours a day in school attending classes for different subjects and engages in extra-curricular activities. Besides this, in a regular school, it is mandatory for students to have a minimum of 75% attendance, failing which students are not allowed to write the year-end examinations. However, due to the tie-up that a dummy school has with a regular school, children there attend school only once a year to appear for the final examinations. So Yes you can do class 12th as Dummy. But make sure that you have a valid reason to give to your old school so that they can agree to do some small paperwork which is required to change school after class 11th. It is better to do dummy when you are preparing for competition level exam because it gives you ample time to prepare. SO what all is that you can do dummy and only small paperwork is required for that. But If you want to Diploma course - you cannot do 12th as Dummy. To take up Dummy School, you need to register for the Competitive / Entrance exams.
