One year lost may affect employment opportunities, but since you are bound to do a B Tech and has lost only one year , you have two options. Once you clear the entrance examinations and got admission to a good institute , you may leave the current course and do a B Tech programme. Alternately you may if interested complete your BSc degree and opt for lateral entry admissions after clearing state level entrance examinations as applicable. Lateral entry admissions to B Sc holders are permitted by some universities in our country. AMIEAMIETE/AMIME/AMICE/AMAeSI etc are professional memberships considered equivalent to B Tech.
